Privacy Policy

Latter Day Homestead LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the Latter Day Homestead Garden Planner. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. What Data We Collect

Account information: email address, display name (optional), avatar (optional).

Garden data: address, GPS coordinates, garden layouts, crop selections, planting schedules, journal entries, task lists.

Usage data: pages visited and feature usage. We do not currently use third-party analytics services.

2. How We Use Your Data

Provide personalized planting schedules and frost alerts.

Send optional email notifications (task summaries, frost alerts) — you control frequency in Settings.

Improve the service.

3. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following services to provide the application:

Supabase (authentication, database hosting) — supabase.com/privacy

NOAA (frost date data) — public US government data; no personal information sent.

Open-Meteo (weather) — open-meteo.com — we send latitude/longitude only, no personal identifiers.

OpenFarm.cc (companion planting data) — no personal information sent.

Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (geocoding) — we send your street address to resolve coordinates; subject to the OSM Privacy Policy.

Google OAuth (optional sign-in) — subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

Stripe (future payment processing) — if we add paid features, payment processing will be handled by Stripe. We will never store your credit card number.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in Supabase (AWS US infrastructure) with Row Level Security.

Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth (bcrypt).

HTTPS is enforced for all connections.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings.

We retain data only while your account is active.

After deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use only essential session cookies for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Children

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do.
